Since its inception, this was always the mission for Total Global Sports. At PDA Girls College Showcase over Memorial Day weekend in New Jersey, the TGS system was really put to the test! TOTALtournament software was used to run the showcase of over 250 teams, TOTALcollegiate enabled 375 college coaches to create custom event schedules, take and save electronic player notes and access real-time game schedules and player profiles, and TOTALplayer provided over 1500 players online player profiles and the ability to link to college coaches easily and enhance their recruiting efforts. Plus team coaches, managers and families used the custom PDA showcase App for up-to-the-minute schedules and venue information. “Being a Premier Showcase and ECNL event, all eyes were on us. To have tournaments, college coaches, teams and players linked on the same platform in real-time just makes sense for everyone. No one else but Total Global Sports could offer such a practical solution,” said Patty Seitz, Tournament Director.
Slammers Futbol Classic held in July was one for the records book. Although Slammers is a long-running tournament, this year was the first year it also included a college showcase event for U15 and and older. Not only did they need tournament software and custom tournament mobile app to run the event, but also the college coach and player software solutions integrated. “We selected TGS for our tournament because we literally could ‘plug’ into any of their solutions and hit the ground running,” said Ramon Reid, Tournament Director. The event drew over 325 teams and their players, plus top colleges programs such as UCLA, USC, University of Colorado-Boulder, USD and many more, all using the TGS system for their recruiting needs and up-to-the-minute event information. Even when torrential rain cancelled or postponed games and threatened to put a damper on the event, the TGS system helped keep information flowing in real-time as games and venues were changed so that teams, families and colleges had the most current information. As Ramon said later, “I truly don’t know how my staff of volunteers at our nine venues could have kept track of all the weather-related game changes if it wouldn’t have been for the TGS mobile tournament app. It kept everyone on course the entire weekend.”
