The committee makes its selections for the NCAA Tournament Monday, November 7th 2022. 64 teams get in with 31 automatic bids which are Conference Champions and 33 At Large Berths that will focus on the RPI. There will be 4 brackets of 16 teams and the committee will seed 8 teams in each bracket. There are 348 Division 1 Programs that compete for 64 spots to the NCAA Tournament below is a projected breakdown of the selection. The selection show will be live on Monday November 7th at 4pm EST at NCAA.com.

RPI 1 Florida St 13-2-3 (ACC Champions Automatic Bid) are ready to defend their national title and experience will be essential and they have plenty of that. They won the ACC Conference final against RPI 3 North Carolina 2-1. They have #1 RPI in the country and will get #1 seed. They will be very tough to overcome especially in Tallahassee. The College Cup is very likely and they have already played two games in the ACC Tournament to win Championship at this year’s College Cup venue Cary, North Carolina. Everything is looking good for Seminole’s to keep watching.

RPI 2 Alabama 19-2-1 is not just Football it is Futbol with so many outstanding firsts this season. They have scored 59 goals, second highest in the country. They ran the table in the regular season SEC Conference by going 10-0-0 and they were on a current 15 game win streak leading into the SEC Tournament Conference Final. They lost 1-0 in the final in a very competitive game to RPI 13 South Carolina. They will be at home for the first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament as long they keep getting the results. Losing in the SEC final will only fuel the Crimson Tide even more and they will be a very tough out in Tuscaloosa.

RPI 3 UCLA 17-2-0 Bruins will get one of the four #1 seeds and will be extremely tough to knock off and will be on a mission after last season’s opening 1st NCAA Round loss. With that being said there is a new culture and purpose under Head Coach Marguerite and they will be expecting to get back to the College Cup which is in Cary, North Carolina. The west is always tricking and there may be a College Cup level game thrown at them which being at home will be even more essential.

RPI 4 Notre Dame 14-2-3 The Fighting Irish have taken a big step improving on last year and will have their focus on getting to the College Cup. They will be right there to get 1 seed and the committee will have a tough decision when selecting the Top 4 seeds in the country.

RPI 5 North Carolina 15-4-1 are back with vengeance after last season’s 1st round loss and not making the ACC Tournament for the first time ever. They shared the regular season ACC title with RPI 4 Florida St and then they matched up in the ACC Conference Final where Florida St won a very competitive game 2-1. They will be looking to get a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and it will be a tough trip to Chapel Hill for everyone on their side of the bracket to get to the College Cup.

RPI 6 Penn St 13-4-3 (Big Ten Champions Automatic Bid) Nittany Lions finished an unusual 6th in conference but always play a tough Non-Conference schedule to strengthen their RPI. In the Big Ten Conference Tournament they cranked it up and won three straight games and knocked off the #1 seed in the Big Ten RPI 15 Michigan St. They will most likely get a 2 seed in the NCAA and will be looking to get back to the College Cup.

RPI 7 Duke 12-4-3 will most likely get a 2 seed also and the Blue Devils are an extremely competitive team that will be looking to put together the quality down the stretch to finally win the College Cup. It is only 20 miles from home so if they get there I’m sure they will have a huge fan base to cheer them on.

RPI 8 St Louis 20-1-0 (Atlantic 10 Champions Automatic Bid) Where do you start? They have the most wins in the country and are currently on a 18 game win streak with their only loss coming against RPI 4 Notre Dame. They have scored 65 goals the most in the country and are having an outstanding season. Head Coach Katie Shields and the Billikens have done incredible and are very deserving of a 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament with 4 Top 50 wins.

RPI 9 Arkansas 11-3-4 Razorbacks are still taking care of business but this year the Crimson Tide have made the very competitive SEC even more so. They will be looking to take their Non-Conference and SEC experience into the NCAA Tournament. They are on the edge of 2 or 3 seed and depending on the committee’s mindset could make a difference in their quest to the College Cup. No matter the circumstances they are a very tough team to overcome.

RPI 10 Virginia 13-3-3, The Cavaliers are a team that can beat anyone in the country when firing on all cylinders and are looking for the 2 seed which will depend on how the committee looks at a variety of variables and other results around them but it will be a very difficult opponent for all in their side of the bracket.

RPI 11 Stanford 16-2-2 (PAC 12 Champions Automatic Bid) Cardinals will be looking for a 2 seed and they won the PAC 12 Championship to receive the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. A team full of quality will be a very challenging opponent for all in the path and are very capable of getting back to the College Cup where they have consistently been over the last decade.

RPI 12 South Carolina 12-3-5 (SEC Champions Automatic Bid) The Gamecocks will be looking to get back to the College Cup. Their consistent tradition of winning playoff games is special and they just used that in the SEC Championship by knocking off #1 Alabama 1-0 in SEC Final in a very competitive game with Brianna Behm scoring the game winner. With that win it will put them with the possibility of getting a 2 or 3 seed.

RPI 13 Pittsburgh 12-4-3 is having an outstanding season and is going to dance for the first time in program history. Legendary coach Randy Waldrum’s experience in NCAAs will make them a very dangerous team and they will most likely receive a 3 or 4 seed.

RPI 14 Harvard 11-1-3 played a competitive non-conference schedule and went undefeated in the Ivy League but finished 2nd to RPI 29 Brown. They will be looking to get a 4 seed. A team that plays with a lot of creativity and flair will be tough for the team that crosses their road in the 1st Round NCAA.

RPI 15 Michigan St 16-2-3 Head Coach Jeff Hosler and Spartans in his second season has done an outstanding job this season, winning the Big Ten Regular Season and getting to the Big Ten Tournament Conference Final losing to RPI 7 Penn St. They will be looking to get a 3 or 4 seed and it will be interesting to see where the committee slots them in.

RPI 16 Georgetown 14-1-5 (Big East Champions Automatic Bid) Hoyas have tied 3 Top 50 teams and won one top 50 game and it happened to be in the Big East Final against RPI Xavier 25. They will be hoping for a 4 seed and a good side of the bracket to try to get back to the College Cup from recent years.

RPI 17 Northwestern 14-4-2 Wildcats have had a great season and everything really got rolling when they knocked off RPI 11 Stanford which catapulted them into Big Ten play where they finished 2nd. Their RPI and resume of results will most likely get them #4 seed which will make them a tough opponent going into the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 18 USC 12-2-3 The Trojans is a team I feel you don’t want on your side of the bracket and will most likely get a Top 4 seed after it knocked off UCLA this past weekend. They also beat Stanford during the PAC 12. They are a team that may find themselves in Elite 8 game looking to get to the College Cup.

RPI 19 Clemson 8-4-5 Tigers played 10 Top 50 teams during the regular season and went 2-4-4 with a Top 5 win over RPI 5 Notre Dame and will most likely be a 4 or 5 seed. The ACC prepared them for the NCAA Tournament and they will be a tough opening round match up.

RPI 20 BYU 10-2-6 will be a very difficult matchup home or away and may or may not get a 4 seed. They are a team you do not want in your side of the bracket because they are very capable of beating anyone and last year’s NCAA National Runner up are very determined to get back to the College Cup.

RPI 21 TCU 12-4-5 Horned Frogs played a very strong non-Conference schedule and will be hosting in the 1st Round NCAA Tournament. In the Big 12 regular season they came second in the conference and in the Big 12 Tournament they came runners up so they will be ready to go when the whistle blows in Fort Worth.

RPI 22 UCF 9-2-5 They won the regular season American Athletic Conference and lost in the Conference Tournament Semi Finals to Memphis on Pks. On their resume they have 3 top 50 ties and 1 top 50 win. They will get to host in the 1st Round of the NCAAs.

RPI 23 Rutgers 13-4-2 They started the season out with 9 straight wins and finished 4-4-2 with three tough road games to end the season. If they find their form from the first half of the season maybe the Scarlet Knights can get back to the College Cup and are very intriguing to watch.

RPI 24 Tennessee 11-5-2 They have two Top 50 wins in SEC against RPI 27 Georgia and Vanderbilt RPI 49 which will get them a 1st round game at home. The Lady Volunteers will be looking to get rolling in the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 25 Xavier 13-2-5 It is tough to say what the committee will think but a top 25 RPI makes them very interesting and with only one result against a Top 50 opponent and that being a tie against conference foes Georgetown who knows.

RPI 26 Texas 14-2-4 They won the regular season BIg 12 title and got knocked off by RPI 31 West Virginia in Semi Finals of Big 12 Tournament. They have 4 top 50 results with two wins and two ties this will be more than enough to get them a 1st Round NCAA home game.

RPI 27 Georgia 12-5-3 The Bulldogs have got two top 50 wins and 3 top 50 ties which gives them a healthy RPI which will give them a 1st Round NCAA home game. The new culture is going well for Georgia and NCAAs will be a very good test for the team.

RPI 28 Brown 11-2-2 (Ivy League Champions Automatic Bid) The Bears went into the final week of conference play on top of league but did not play their last conference game due to sickness of players on the Yale team. So the game got cancelled and then the Ivy league went to a winning percentage system based on points from their record in conference 5-0-1 of 88.89% to receive the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Somewhat complicated yes but Brown have won the Ivy Conference for the third year in a row. Very impressive. They will most likely get to host a 1st Round NCAA game at home and will be ready to go.

RPI 29 Santa Clara 10-6-3 (WCC Champions Automatic Bid) After starting the season 2-5-0 the Broncos got a tie against cross town rivals Stanford and things started to get back on track. Then in WCC league play they went undefeated and won the automatic bid by winning the conference. Last year they won the National Championship in the spring and reached the College Cup in the Fall. So they have tons of experience and will be hosting in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament. Last season they went on the road to win three straight games to get to the College Cup so they are road ready if they win their opening game.

RPI 30 Ohio St 10-5-3 The Buckeyes got two good Top 50 RPI wins during the season over RPI 42 Dayton and Big Ten Tournament Champs RPI Penn St 6 this will all get them a home game in the first round of NCAAs.

RPI 31 West Virginia 10-4-7 (Big 12 Champions Automatic Bid) The Mountaineers are flying and are undefeated in their last seven games and winning the Big 12 Tournament Championship to give them an automatic bid. They are looking lively and will get a 1st Round NCAA Tournament game at home and will be a team that many might not want to see in their side of the bracket.

RPI 32 Arizona St 9-5-3 Sun Devils will get into the Tournament and it will be close to whether they get to host or on the road the 1st Round of NCAA. Either way they’ve been very competitive in the PAC 12 which will give them experience and will create a very tough matchup for who and wherever they play.

RPI 33 LSU 9-3-7 a team with 7 ties and 4 of them in top 50 and one top 50 win gives them more than enough to get into the dance. They will be hoping they get a 1st Round NCAA home game and will be looking to make some noise in the Tournament.

RPI 34 Mississippi St 11-5-4 A great turnaround season considering last year they went 5-8-3 and on their resume they have 4 Top 50 wins and one top 50 tie. Tough team to match up with and will be right on the edge of getting a 1st Round home game and are very deserving with these results.

RPI 35 California 10-4-6 The Bears will be a tough match up in the NCAA 1st Round and will likely be on the road. Early in the year they beat this year’s WCC Champs Santa Clara so they will be prepared for whatever the committee selects for them.

RPI 36 Utah Valley 14-4-3 The Wolverines haven’t done much wrong all season and got upset 1-0 in the WAC Conference Final RPI 67 New Mexico St, but with 14 wins and two top 25 results a tie against UCF and then their win over RPI 20 BYU on the road makes them a lock. A tough matchup for whoever draws them in the 1st Round of NCAAs.

RPI 37 Buffalo 15-1-4 (Mid-American Champions Automatic Bid) They did the double winning the regular season Conference Title and Tournament Conference Title that gets the automatic bid. During the season they had no Top 50 results but 15 wins pushes their RPI up there but they will play on the road in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 38 Lamar 15-1-2 (Southland Champions Automatic Bid) They have just moved to the Southland and have opened with a bang they’ve won the Regular Season Title and the Conference Championship to get the automatic bid. Will be on the road for the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 39 NC State 7-7-5 Wolfpack have on their resume two top 50 RPI wins over RPI 19 Clemson and RPI 45 Wake Forest and will get them back to the dance with two strong Top 25 ties against RPI 12 South Carolina and RPI 23 Georgetown. In addition they have been inconsistent down the stretch so it will be interesting to see if the Wolfpack are ready to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 40 Texas A+M 9-6-5 have 4 top 50 ties and will get At Large Berth to the NCAAs. They will be on the road for the 1st Round and it will make for a very competitive opening game in the NCAA for both teams.

RPI 41 Portland 11-4-4 have a top 50 win over RPI 33 Utah Valley and they will be enough to get them in especially with the amount of ties in collegiate soccer. They have been inconsistent down the stretch and will be looking to regain their focus for their opening round opponent. A program full of outstanding players and National Championship tradition. They have been absent for 9 years and will be hungry to start that tradition again in the NCAAs.

RPI 42 Dayton 16-3-1 Flyers don’t have a Top 50 result at any level so it will be interesting to see if they get at Large Berth on the RPI being in the Top 50. The RPI is far more complex with all the additional ties we have had this season. Will be tough for them to get in.

RPI 43 Quinnipiac 15-2-1 (Metro Atlantic Automatic Bid) Won the Conference Championship 4-0 over Nigara to claim their 15th win of the season. A team that will have to go on the road for the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament looking for the upset.

RPI 44 Oklahoma St 11-4-4 The Cowboys have a big win over Ivy League Champs RPI 30 Brown there will get them into the NCAA Tournament. They finished fifth in the competitive Big 12 and lost in the quarterfinals of the BIg 12 Tournament. Will travel on the road in the 1st Round of NCAAs and will be an interesting matchup for where the committee puts them.

RPI 45 Wake Forest 9-6-3 will be getting in with a Top 25 win over RPI 18 Clemson and another strong win over RPI 29 Georgia and are another ACC team that will cause many complications for their 1st round opponent.

RPI 46 Virginia Tech 10-6-2 in the ACC had a Top 5 win over RPI 3 North Carolina and two Top 50 wins over RPI 36 NC State RPI 46 Wake Forest and a top 10 tie with RPI 10 Virginia all this will be more than enough to get them a berth to the NCAA tournament. They will be a dangerous opponent for someone in the 1st Round.

RPI 47 Wisconsin 11-5-3 have a top 50 tie with RPI TCU it is tough to say how the committee will differentiate from previous selections when there are far less top wins and results in general this season. Tough to say but it will be very close.

RPI 48 Liberty 14-3-4 Flames lost to Pks 4-3 in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament final to RPI 75 Florida Gulf Coast. They don’t have a Top 50 result so it will be tough for them to get in.

RPI 49 Vanderbilt 11-4-4 have two top Top 50 wins and top 10 tie against Arkansas in the SEC Tournament which they won on PKs. The Commodores should be getting into dance.

RPI 50 Auburn 6-6-6 Maybe the most unusual record I’ve ever seen with that being said they do have 5 Top 50 results 4 of them being ties, but one of them on road at RPI 1 Florida St and they have a top 50 win over RPI 34 Mississippi St this should give them strong consideration for the NCAAs.

RPI 51 SMU 10-4-5 Mustangs lost in the American Athletic Conference Final to Memphis which dropped them in the RPI. They have one top 50 tie which will leave some tough comparisons for the committee. Not sure if they get in but maybe.

RPI 52 Arizona 8-7-3 The Wildcats have battled well all year and are right there for NCAA Selection to the Tournament. Their win on the road over USC will really open the eyes of the committee and should be enough to get them in.

RPI 53 Monmouth 13-2-3 They have had a very good season, but they don’t have a top 50 win the nearest they have is a win. over RPI 56 Northeastern. Very tough to consider but with all these ties who knows.

RPI 54 Pepperdine 9-4-5 The Waves are right on the bubble and have a Top 52 win over Arizona and two top 50 ties. It will be very interesting in Malibu when the selection show comes on.

RPI 55 Washington 10-6-3 The Huskies have a Top 50 win and a tie. I think the committee must highly consider them for the Tournament.

RPI 56 Northeastern 10-6-4 They have a top 50 tie but it will be tough for the committee to consider them.

RPI 57 South Dakota St 12-1-5 The Jackrabbits have a Top 50 tie but it seems a stretch again this is not a usual year.

RPI 58 Nebraska 8-7-5 The CornHuskers have a Top 10 RPI win against Penn St and Top 50 win over Ohio St in their last four games, in addition they have 3 top 50 ties. That is a strong resume that must be looked at very strongly.

RPI 59 Gonzaga 10-3-5 The Bulldogs have gotten after it all year and the overall RPI is higher than they would like, but they have a strong tie against RPI 29 Santa Clara and then win over RPI 41 Portland in their last two games and should be considered.

RPI 66 Samford 11-3-7 (Southern Conference Automatic Bid) In a very defensive contest between Samford and UNCG it came down to PKs with Samford winning 6-5 on PKs. Now they will get ready to see where the committee sends them on the road for the 1st Round of NCAAs looking for the upset.

RPI 67 New Mexico St 13-4-3 (WAC Champions Automatic Bid) The Aggies reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history knocking off the RPI 36 Utah Valley. A fantastic achievement and will be a tough opening matchup in the 1st Round of NCAAs.

RPI 75 Florida Gulf Coast 12-5-2 (Atlantic Sun Champions Automatic Bid) They got a late goal to tie Liberty up in the Conference Tournament Final which they went onto PKs to win 4-3. They will be on the road in the 1st Round of the NCAAs looking for the upset.

RPI 76 Horizon 12-3-3 (Horizon Conference Automatic Bid) 1st year Head Coach Kevin Boyd took the Panthers straight back to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time. Boyd is no foreigner to the NCAA this will be his 14th appearance which combined with the competitive Milwaukee team this will make them a very interesting matchup for who they travel to in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 77 Memphis 9-5-5 (American Athletic Conference Champions Automatic Bid) The Tigers finished 4th in conference and had to play three elimination games. Winning the quarters in OT then the semis in PKs and knocking off RPI 51 SMU in overtime in the final. Memphis will be a tough matchup for whoever draws them in the 1st Round of the Tournament. Plenty of postseason. experience in this program.

RPI 92 Hofstra 10-7-4 (Colonial Champions Automatic Bid) Won in overtime in the Conference final against RPI 49 Northeastern to win its fifth Conference Championship in the last six years. A very competitive program and will be looking to upset in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament.

RPI 109 Radford 12-3-4 (Big South Champions Automatic Bid) In the final of the Big South Tournament Championship the Highlanders beat Gardner-Webb 3-0 to put their name in the hat to see where they will go dancing in the NCAA 1st Round.

RPI 114 New Hampshire 9-5-3 (American East Champion Automatic Bid) American East Championship Final had everything and finished 4-4 after regulation and no goals in OT with New Hampshire defeating Binghamton 3-2 in Pks. They will take that experience and look to upset whoever they travel to in the 1st Round of NCAAs.

RPI 115 UTSA 12-5-4 (Conference USA Automatic Bid) The Roadrunners found another gear in the Conference USA Tournament winning 3 games in a row as the #6 seed was very impressive. Now they wait to see who they match up with on the road in the 1st Round of the NCAAs looking to continue their upset journey.

RPI 123 Bucknell 8-5-6 (Patriot League Champions Automatic Bid) In Patriot League Championship Final Bucknell beat Army in Pks 3-1 to receive the automatic bid. They will travel on the road in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament and tied on road RPI 31 West Virginia who are this season’s Big 12 Champs so experience is there for a potential upset.

RPI 140 UC Irvine 10-5-6 (Big West Champions Automatic Bid) The Anteaters got the sixth seed in the Big West Conference Tournament and won three straight defeating Long Beach St in the Final. Last season they knocked off UCLA and have that experience within the team. They will be a very interesting matchup again in the 1st Round of NCAAs.

RPI 143 Missouri St 12-6-2 (Missouri Valley Champions Automatic Bid) The Bears came in second in the Missouri Valley Conference but in the Conference Tournament they had to face two upset driven opponents in #6 seed UNI and in the final #8 seed Murray State who they beat 1-0. They will await the NCAA Selection Committee destination for them in the 1st Round when they will be looking for the upset this time around.

RPI 144 San Jose St 8-6-7 (Mountain West Conference Automatic Bid) Great job by 1st year Head Coach Tina Estrada they shared the Mountain West Conference regular season title with Wyoming and New Mexico, but with the tie breakers they ended up not getting a bye in the Conference Tournament. The Tournament was in altitude so Spartans had to win three games in seven days two of which went to double overtime and they won both on Pks. No Mountain too high for the Spartans and will be on the road in the 1st Round of NCAAs.

RPI 147 Old Dominion 9-8-3 (Sun Belt Conference Automatic Bid) The Monarchs won absolute barn burner 4-3 in double OT over James Madison with Carla Morich scoring the winner.
